Who and what is
Stari Mačak (Old Cat)?
First to present myself, Lovre Madunovic, your whitewater guide for Croatia and West Balkans. Born and raised in Bosnia and Herzegovina, next to the river Trebižat. What started as a student summer job on the rivers of Croatia turned into lifelong passion. Winters in the dormitory of croatian capital Zagreb were replaced by the rivers of latinoamerica (Costa Rica, Argentina, Colombia), Balkans, Caucus (Georgia), north Italy. Whitewater guiding gave me frame for things I considered and still consider important.
TRAVELING-whitewater activities happen mostly in the most beautiful parts of the countries, national parks, canyon, and is great mean of getting to know the flora and fauna of the world, as much as the most interesting geology you can imagine, shaped by the power of the rivers.
LEARNING - working in various countries forced me (gave me opportunity) to get into different languages, different social norms I could see advantages as much as shortcomings of upbringing in my own background.
BODY AND MIND - the funniest way of keeping in shape is to do stuff outdoor, and whitewater, with the change of the rapids and surrounding offers endless inspiration for the mind.
